ReplyDeleteWhy does a conclusion that entails authority change the epistemological standard?
ReplyDeleteHitchens is no philosopher.... He is a man bitter with "religion".
ReplyDeleteWhy did Craig go this way rather than pointing out that Hitchens, being a man so unconvinced by arguments for the existence of God and sure of their failure, has not shown any of the presented any failures in Craig's arguments.
ReplyDelete"but a claim that gives certain people the authority to tell me what to do on the basis of a God, I think its a bigger issue."
ReplyDeleteIs this the real "rub" for Hitchens? Not so much that he doesn't believe in God, but that he objects to any group of people acting as God's mouthpiece? This is a very different issue than "There's no such thing as God."
